Policy recommendations: Resilient labour markets and future families

FutuRes experts have published two new Policy Insights. They give recommendations of how to approach demographic challenges to:
... labour markets: Looking at data (both the pan-European and country level data), our experts Emily Barker and Jakub Bijak recommend a variation of strategies, depending on the country. Policies will have to reactivate the working-age population and keep early retirees partially active. Their recent work within the EU-funded FutuRes project has found that robots and migration may be part of adaptive solutions - but they aren’t viable on their own.
The article by Dr. Barker and Prof. Bijak contains 7 policy recommendations.
... families: Today's "relationship recession" affects tomorrow's well-being. Data show that fewer young Europeans start lasting and committed relationships than younger people did in the past. It is time to actively support family formation with smart policies, says Anna Rotkirch.
Prof. Rotkirch give's 3 general recommendations for reshaping family policy.
Policy Insights give recommendations or lay out the research perspective on a policy issue. They are written by FutuRes experts in cooperation with Population Europe.
