FutuRes is pleased to be a partner in the next Berlin Demography Days, which will take place 23-25 January 2024. The theme will be “Overcoming Crises – Shaping Policy for an Uncertain Future”. We invite you to join us for panel discussions with distinguished experts from politics, business, science and civil society

The topic: To many, our current world appears to be in never-ending crisis. Fears about the future have increased, especially among the younger generations. Crisis situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and ecological disasters challenge us to move towards a framework of forward-looking crisis management. Panel discussions will look at best practice responses to shocks caused e.g. by violent conflicts, climate change, pandemics, and population developments such as societal ageing.
How can you participate?
All of the panels will be held exclusively online (with simultaneous translation in German and English), except for the first Evening Event, on 23 January 2024 at the Futurium museum in Berlin, which you can register to attend in person. Participation for all panels is free, but it is necessary to pre-register.
Panelists and speakers at this first Evening Event will be the Member of the German parliament (Bundestag) Hermann Gröhe, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community Juliane Seifert, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health Antje Draheim, scientific advisor to the European Commission Pearl Dykstra and Secretary General of the Volkswagen Foundation Georg Schütte. The European Commission Vice-President Dubravka Šuica will give a video message.
